Well 2014 is here and that leaves me with a complicated set of challenges ahead. Aside from some turmoil around aging parents (my Dad will be 94 this year!) I’m about to take on a major upgrade of my home PC. This will almost certainly impede my creativity for a period, though I can’t tell how long at this point. With luck I come out the other side with enhanced capabilities and can get back into accepting freelance work. My fingers are crossed and I’m holding my breath.

I’m also starting to plan for my trip to Italy, later this year. I’ve never been outside North America so it’s going to be an exciting journey for me and my wife. I need to start cramming on learning Italian, if only to be able to ask where the bathroom is and to learn to say, “Sorry, I don’t speak Italian.” We’ll be visiting the northwestern part of the country and staying with good friends.

And then there’s the usual: concerns about the health of my business and body. The on-going struggle. So I’m a bit intimidated by 2014, but I’m just trying to tackle these challenges in an organized manner. Not my most exciting blog, huh?

Well… enough dull personal updates, how about we get back to some juicy art recommendations?! It’s been a while and some great stuff’s been making it way into DA galleries. Click the thumbnails for the embiggened experience!

Apologies for the lateness of my response.

First off – Happy new year – and that can be covered by the year of the nag 

Anyhoo, I am sorry to hear about your folks, but 94 is a whoah! Even so, you have my support my friend.

Am thinking of investing in a new PC myself at some point, especially when XP dies.

Going abroad? You’ll be fine – most of the EU speaks English. It’s the ignorant F***s in the UK who cannot speak any foreign lingo.

Well sir I wish you the best on all fronts  just be weary that the UK is in the midst of a serious rainstorm!!

Have fun!

Have a nice trip!  Make sure you don't anger the locals by asking for the wrong Italian cuisine!  :)

Don't think of it as 2014 - maybe it will be less intimidating as 4712: The Year of the Wooden Horse (Chinese New Year is right around the corner!). Of course, that mean's I'm REALLY pissed that I don't have my flying car yet. Maybe you should go with 5774, as my Hebrew friends do. Now that makes me EVEN MORE pissed about not having a flying car...even if I couldn't use it on the Sabbath.

Well, not matter what the date, my friend, I'm here for you. Before you go to Italy, watch John Pinette's take on France and Italy (www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpMkRI…. In fact, watch his video "I'm Starvin'". Trust me, it's spit your coke out of your nose funny. I promise, you will NEVER forget this amazingly funny man!

2014....where's my flying car dammit! :nuu:

And I mean a full on Blade Runner/Back to the Future/Jetson's flying car, not an airplane that can fold it's wings up.

Enjoy Italy, I have been there a few times..

I hear you on the health aspects,,, sitting a PCs do nothing to help there, that's a battle I face everyday.
I look forward to your next artistic work..
